My dad didn’t think it was a very good name for a wine company and many people have shared his sentiment over the years, but it has always felt right to us so we have braved on with it. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eHobo is all Sonoma County. I was raised in Sonoma County. After a lot of searching around, I have chosen to raise my two daughters here as well. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eAs a grape growing region, there is so much to explore and experiment with here. Many sub AVAs have characters and qualities that make a Sonoma County brand able to evolve and stay exciting. Primarily, we have focused on Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are always after a more subtle, more restrained, almost lighter style of Cabernet Sauvignon than what may be typical in California these days, but also something that is bright and characteristic of the variety.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eLean and a little rustic like a lot of French wine, but fruit forward like the best of California.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThe grapes for this wine come about 82% from our own block in Mitch Patin’s Lloyd Vineyard on West Soda Rock Road planted in 1998 towards the southern end of Alexander Valley on the banks of the Russian River. 11% comes from the Larrick Vineyard that we farm, and the remaining 7% is Malbec from J. Rickard in Cloverdale. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eAs always, this wine was produced more like a Pinot more than a Cab.
